Why the Order of Therapies Matters More Than Any One of Them

To bake a cake you need the ingredients and the proper order of how to use them, it is the same for healing from most diseases but especially true for Neuropathy. Most clinics offer you a list of treatment but no specific plan, this is a recipe for failure. Oxylon has teamed with Dr. Steven Zodkoy, chiropractor and nutritionist, to develop a comprehensive sequential plan to maximize your healing.

The neuropathy protocol Dr. Steven Zodkoy built for Oxylon is not a menu. It is a synergistic sequence, and the sequence is the point. Each step is designed to make the next step more effective. Rearranging or skipping a step will reduce the benefit of the program.

This protocol is the accumulation of 35 years of clinical practice, revised and updated to maximize results. This article walks through why he built it the way he did, including one placement detail in the laser step that sounds backwards the first time you hear it and makes complete sense once you understand what it is for.

The problem the sequence is built around

Nerve tissue requires the body to utilize a lot of resources including oxygen and nutrients, it is expensive to run. It needs oxygen and nutrients delivered continuously, and it needs them delivered through the smallest vessels in the body.

Your hands and feet are the end of that line. They are the furthest from the heart, served by the narrowest capillaries, and the most vulnerable when delivery slows. Diabetes, chemotherapy, medications, toxins, and aging all affect that delivery network in different ways, which is part of why such different causes produce such similar symptoms.

Dr. Zodkoy’s success comes from the fact he focuses on the entire nervous and biochemical system and not just on the area of pain. How can we expect to relieve Neuropathy at the end of the pathway if the pathway is damaged several steps above. Relief from Neuropathy can only be achieved when the entire nervous system and biochemical pathway is addresssed. That logic is why their is a sequence and that sequence yields success. The whole sequence follows.

Step one, the Max Pulse wellness screening

The protocol calls for a Max Pulse wellness screening to look at arterial stiffness and stress levels.

This is a wellness assessment, not a medical evaluation. Its purpose is to establish where your circulation currently sits, so that the program starts from your situation and so you have a reference point to compare against later.

Step two, AVACEN for 10 to 15 minutes before the bath

The AVACEN session comes immediately before the bath, and the timing is deliberate. It runs for 10 to 15 minutes and is designed to increase capillary dilation and blood flow. Simple put, it opens up the smallest blood vessels, those around the nervous, to bring more oxygen and nutrients.

Think of it as opening the roads before the delivery trucks arrive. If the goal of the bath is to get oxygen into your system and out to your extremities, then arriving at the bath with capillaries already dilated means the oxygen has somewhere to go.

Run the bath first and the AVACEN afterward and you have opened the roads after the trucks have left. Same two therapies, considerably less coordination between them. This is why the protocol specifies before, not after.

Step three, the Kaqun oxygen bath

The Kaqun bath is where oxygen uptake happens. In the protocol, the purpose is described as maximizing oxygen uptake for nerve cell function and rejuvenation.

The schedule is specific and it is not arbitrary:

Phase Frequency Duration
Loading phase 2 baths per week 6 weeks
Consolidation phase 1 bath per week 8 weeks
Maintenance 1 bath per month Ongoing

The front loaded schedule reflects how Dr. Zodkoy thinks about tissue that has been under supplied for a long time. Nerve tissue does not respond to a single good day. The early frequency is about consistency, and the lower frequency afterward is about holding what the first phase established.

The monthly maintenance bath is described in the protocol as crucial for long term results. It is easy to skip once you are feeling steadier, and it is the step people most often let go of first. Dr. Zodkoy considers it part of the protocol rather than an optional extra.

Step four, laser therapy, and the placement that sounds backwards

Laser therapy runs 10 to 15 minutes, and its stated purpose in the protocol is to support nerve conductivity and repair while strengthening brain to body communication.

Here is the detail that surprises people. When the affected area is small, the laser goes over the area. But when the affected area is large, which it very often is with neuropathy, the laser is placed at the highest point along the nerve closest to the spine.

So if both feet burn, the placement may not be your feet.

The reasoning follows from how a nerve is built. A nerve is not a collection of independent sensations at the skin. It is a single line of communication running from the spine out to the periphery, and the part nearest the spine is the trunk that everything downstream depends on.

Working at the trunk influences the whole length of the nerve. Working at the far end of a large affected area means chasing symptoms across a lot of surface area while the trunk goes untouched.

There is a second reason, and it is practical. If the burning covers both feet and both lower legs, no reasonable laser session can cover that territory in 10 to 15 minutes. Choosing the highest point along the nerve is how you address a large area with a focused session.

This is also the clearest illustration of how Dr. Zodkoy approaches the whole condition. Go upstream. Address the system that serves the tissue rather than only the place where the tissue is complaining.

Why oxygen, circulation, and sequence rather than symptom by symptom

Put the four steps side by side and the logic reads in a straight line.

  • The screening establishes where your circulation actually is
  • AVACEN opens the small vessels so delivery can reach the periphery
  • The Kaqun bath raises oxygen availability while those vessels are open
The laser works along the nerve pathway itself, from the trunk outward when the area is large
  • Nutritional supplements are a key step covered in our next article

Each step is designed to support the one after it. Dr. Zodkoy’s Oxylon protocol is a wellness program, and it is designed to run alongside the care you already receive from your own physician rather than in place of any part of it. Nothing here is a substitute for the medication you take or the blood sugar management your doctor has you doing.

What happens between visits

The in facility sequence is only part of the protocol. The home therapy component keeps the work going on the days you are not at the facility, using an Oxylon water soak, Oxylon Gel, home laser therapy, specific kinds of movement, and dietary adjustments. That side of the protocol has its own article, because it matters at least as much as what happens in the facility.

Seeing where you actually stand

Understanding a mechanism is useful. Knowing your own numbers is more useful.

Oxylon Wellness in Costa Mesa runs the full sequence Dr. Zodkoy designed, and it begins with a wellness screening so the program has a starting point that belongs to you rather than to an average. Dr. Zodkoy developed these protocols over more than 35 years of working with chronic and difficult health issues. He does not practice at Oxylon, and clients wanting a personalized plan can call his office at 732-308-0099.

If burning feet have been shaping your nights for a while, a short form is a small thing to trade for a clearer picture.

Every step has a reason behind it. Fill out the short neuropathy form and our team at Oxylon Wellness in Costa Mesa will reach out.
